Dear families,
Wednesday, October 20 will be an early release day. Please notify me of any transportation changes for your child.
If you would like to donate a large bag of pretzels, chips, goldfish, etc. we would love to have some "extras" for students who happen to forget a snack. Thank you to a couple of you who have donated snacks, hand sanitizer, and other supplies for our class.
I will soon be e-mailing a volunteer sign-up for November. Please be on the look-out for that in your inbox.
This week we will be learning how to write the letter E, identify and continue patterns, identify and generate rhyming words, write sentences about other students in the class using the "I see" sentence frame and a "He/She is" sentence frame. We will also be reviewing our sight words (a, I, at, am, like, see, can, is, the)
You can help your child reinforce these skills at home by:
-Looking for the letter "e" around town (even in unusual fonts or on TV)
-Practicing the "e" sound, which I explain to students sounds like you can't hear someone: "eh?"
-Play the PBS Pattern Game
-Having your child list words that begin with the letter "s"
-Play the PBS Pattern Game
-Having your child list words that begin with the letter "s"
-Having your child find the first and last letter in a word.
-Transitioning from writing name in all uppercase letters, to now using lowercase letters
*Challenge: Build a pattern and describe it using letters. For instance, the pattern RED, RED, YELLOW can also be described as AAB.
Thank you for your continued support!
