Dear families,
I hope everyone stayed dry during the heavy rains last week, and that you all had a good weekend.
Cici's Night will be October 6th. Please mention that you are from Stateside Elementary and Mrs. Colwell's class.
Also, October Scholastic orders are due this Friday. I highly recommend the Guided Reading set from the Seesaw catalog - the books correlate with the reading program we use at Stateside and are on a kindergarten reading level. The Scholastic website is www.scholastic.com/bookclubs with activation code of GNNVQ.
If you would like to volunteer in our classroom, please complete the fingerprinting at the county office. Information regarding the process is available in the front office. All volunteers must be fingerprinted and cleared before they may begin helping in the classroom.
This week we will be learning how to write the letter R, discuss before/after and left/right in math, point word by word while reading, read the words "the" and "no" and do some fall writing.
You can help your child reinforce this skill at home by:
-Looking for the letter "r" around town (even in unusual fonts or on TV), and emphasizing its sound
-Using the words "left" and "right" with your child when describing items
-Have your child list words that begin with the letters we have learned so far: A, B, M, R and T
-Have your child show you the difference between a word and a letter.
Thank you for your continued support!
