Penguin Science Day!

We have been learning about Penguins and using this topic as a starting point for our study on Nonfiction text features and writing. The kids have really taken off with the topic, and are enjoying using our Pebble Go subscription to research other animals during computer time. Here are some photos of the kids doing various activities from Penguin science day.

Using vaseline to simulate the penguin's oil that helps to waterproof its feathers.

 

We used a "blubber glove" made of shortening to submerge our hands in ice cold water. The glove kept our hands warm!
