More Sorting and Daily 5

This week we learned how to write the letter N and number 4. We continued practicing rhyming words, especially with words in the -an family. We also had our fall picture day and had the chance to climb aboard the Half Moon Fire Department's fire truck.

We are still using our math problem solving journals to show how we are thinking when we work on math problems. After solving, we share with our table buddies, and some of us share to the whole class.

Here we are decorating the letter Os we are sending off to 25 other schools as a part of our letter exchange project. We decorated them like the American flag, to represent our school being a themed school of national pride.

Here are some snapshots of us in action working on our Daily 5 reading areas.

In writing, we started working on the word "like" and writing about things that we like. Here is the list we made as a class.

Also in math, we continued to work on our sorting skills, using all the different manipulatives in the classroom.

And to leave you, here is a picture of most of our class (minus absences and check-outs) in a photo we sent out with our letter exchange project.
