Thank you to everyone who participated in Open House! The kids had a great time and were so proud.
If you would like to volunteer in our classroom, please complete the fingerprinting at the county office. Information regarding the process is available in the front office. All volunteers must be fingerprinted and cleared before they may begin helping in the classroom. I e-mailed you this weekend with a list of time slots. We could really use help with those fine motor/art projects! Thank you in advance.
Interim reports go home today. Please sign them and return in your child's daily binder. The cookie dough fundraiser ends on Wednesday, so please return all materials by then.
This week we will be learning how to write the letter B, discuss position of objects, point word by word while reading, read the words "the" and "no" and add details to drawing and writing.
You can help your child reinforce this skill at home by:
-Looking for the letter "b" around town (even in unusual fonts or on TV), and emphasizing its sound
-Discussing the position of household objects (above, below, inside, outside, under, etc.)
-Have your child practice distinguishing left from right
-Have your child list words that begin with the letters we have learned so far: A, B, M, and T
-Have your child show you the difference between a word and a letter. This is a very difficult concept for some of them.
Thank you for your continued support!
